As we move forward in this new year, we wanted to reflect on some of CSA’s top memories of 2015. Click the “read more” for a timeline view of the year!
- Spring Break Trip
CSA had their annual club trip during spring break. This year, students were given two options: a three day trip to Portland, Oregon or a seven day trip to Banff, Canada. Both groups had an amazing time blending with the local churches and visiting famous sites. After the trip, it was clear that all the members of CSA were strengthened both in their friendships and love for the Lord Jesus.
CSA students participated in the intramural frisbee spring league. The team, appropriately named The Shulamites, initially had a difficult time competing with many of the more experienced teams. However, The Shulamites picked it up in the second half of the season and ended up placing eighth out of thirty two teams! Everyone thoroughly enjoyed their time on the field together and we are all looking forward to seeing what The Shulamites can do in the year of 2016!
- Barbecue at Golden Gardens Park
In an effort to take advantage of the beautiful Seattle summer, CSA hosted a barbeque at Golden Gardens Park. The sun, sand, waves of the Puget Sound, and Phil’s famous hot dogs, all overlooked by the Cascade mountains, culminated into an unforgettable experience as the end of the school year approached.
- UW Christian Students Association CD
The CSA students spent 2 hours recording some of the "top hits" from the 2014-2015 school year. The songs were made into a CD for the club alumni to demonstrate our appreciation of all their labor throughout the year. This time was filled with singing, praising, and prayer. What a wonderful time!
- Dawg Daze
Many freshmen students joined us for fun activities during our tabling on Dawg Daze. It was a great opportunity for the new students to meet the current club members and vice versa.
- Discovery Park Hike
CSA members embarked on a short hike in Discovery Park. Despite the stormy weather, everyone had a great time exploring the renowned park with wonderful company. Some highlights included watching pods of seals, taking selfies at the picturesque West Point Lighthouse, and enjoying hot soup and sandwiches at the end of the hike.
- Thanksgiving Day
The Monday before the Thanksgiving break, some of the CSA students gathered together to not only enjoy some desserts but also participate in a Thanksgiving-themed regatta. Students organized themselves into groups and set to work on building craft boats with supplied materials. Each group’s boats then competed in a makeshift regatta to see whose would win the fastest time.
We hope you’ll join us for what’s in store for 2016 as well!
